Supporting the Shamrock at Cotehele Quay

Mike and Tilly were delighted to help raise over £1400 at a fun concert in the boathouse next to Shamrock on Cotehele Quay. Shamrock is a beautiful 1899 Tamar sailing barge which needs funds for restoration. We shared the concert with Polperro Fishermen's Choir.  Despite the wet and windy weather a mix of £5 tickets and donations by the enthusiastic audience raised over £700 and this was matched by Barclays Bank.

Acoustic Sessions at the Boot Inn, Calstock PL18 9RN

posted 12 Sep 2014, 12:07 by Mike Grimshaw   [ updated 13 Jan 2017, 03:57 ]

We now host a regular acoustic session on the second Tuesday of each month at the Boot Inn in Calstock. The sessions start around 20.15 and are 'around the table' sessions with singers and acoustic musicians welcome to come along and do their stuff. We also get a few people coming along to listen, too.

We usually get a mixture of folk, blues, Americana, old time and a cappella  singers too.  The sessions are friendly and informal.

We are well looked after by Shaun and Kim, the proprietors of The Boot Inn.

Calstock is on the Tamar Valley line, so musicians and singers from Plymouth can come by train if they so wish.

Note: No session in February 2017 due to accommodation.
